| Vino 100 Mount Prospect wants to help save the planet – one cork at a time. Mount Prospect’s specialty wine store has partnered with eco-friendly TerraCycle to become Mount Prospect’s first cork recycling station. Residents are encouraged to bring used wine bottle corks to Vino 100 during normal business hours, regardless of where the wine was originally purchased. In turn, Vino 100 will ship the corks to TerraCycle as part of their "Cork Brigade" partnership. Started by two Princeton grads who had a simple plan – take waste, process it, and turn it into a useful product – TerraCycle wants to save millions of corks from going into landfills. As an eco-friendly innovator, TerraCycle "upcycles" used corks - both natural and synthetic - into cool products that are then sold nationally at major retailers.
